1. On-Device Processing & Privacy First Guarantee
Your privacy and document security are our highest priority:
- Local Document Processing: All scanned documents, photos, PDF files, OCR text extraction, ID cards, signatures, and QR codes processed in DocMate AI are processed entirely on your local device.
- No Cloud Document Storage: We do NOT upload, transfer, view, or store your scanned images or extracted text on any external servers or cloud services.
- Complete User Ownership: You retain full ownership and control over all content generated inside the App.
2. Information We Collect
While your document content remains private on your device, we may collect minimal technical information to provide, maintain, and improve the App:
A. Device & Usage Information
- Device model, operating system version, screen resolution, and language preferences.
- Anonymous diagnostic logs, crash reports, and performance metrics via Firebase Crashlytics.
B. Advertising & Identifiers
The App displays advertisements to support free access. Ad networks may collect anonymous identifiers such as:
- Google Advertising ID (GAID) or IDFA.
- Coarse location data (city/country level) for relevant ad delivery.
- Interaction data with advertisements.
C. In-App Purchases & Financial Information
If you purchase a subscription or premium upgrade, payment processing is handled strictly through Google Play Billing. We never store or receive your credit card or bank account details.
3. App Permissions & Why They Are Needed
To deliver document scanning and editing functionality, DocMate AI requests the following device permissions:
- CAMERA: Required to capture images of documents, ID cards, QR codes, and photos for scanning and OCR.
- READ / WRITE EXTERNAL STORAGE & READ_MEDIA_IMAGES: Required to load existing images from your gallery, save scanned documents as PDFs or JPEGs, and organize files on your device.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required to send user updates, batch scanning progress alerts, or system notifications (optional, user-configurable).
- USE_BIOMETRIC / USE_FINGERPRINT: Used solely to authenticate app lock / document encryption features locally on your device.
4. Third-Party Services & Ad Networks
Our app incorporates third-party SDKs for advertising, analytics, and framework functionality. These third parties operate under their respective privacy policies:

- Local Files: All files created in the App remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App.
- Trash Bin: Documents moved to the in-app Trash Bin can be permanently deleted or restored at your command.
